5x+4y = 73
-4x + 4y = -8

5x + 4y -(-4x+4y) = 73 -(-8)
5x + 4y + 4x - 4y = 81
5x + 4x + 4y - 4y = 81
9x = 81
x = 81÷9
x = 9

Substitute x = 9 into any of the equations to find y.

5(9) + 4y = 73
45 + 4y = 73
4y = 73 - 45
4y = 28
y = 28÷4
y=7

Answers :
x = 9
y = 7

Math Help:

Which two answers are correct?
EastWind [94]

Answer:

see below

Step-by-step explanation:

The odd degree (7) tells you the end behaviors are in opposite directions. The negative leading coefficient (-4) tells you the sign of y will be opposite the sign of x.

For x going toward negative infinity, y goes toward positive infinity.

For x going toward positive infinity, y goes toward negative infinity.

Explain how to correctly find the missing side
kotegsom [21]

Pythagorean Theorem

a² + b² = c²

c = 13

a = 4

(Missing side) = b

4² + b² = 13²

16 + b² = 169

16 - 16

169 - 16 = 153

Square Root of 153 = 12.369

b = 12.369

The missing side is 12.369 (rounded to 12 as a whole number)

A girl throws a 2 kg rock with a net force of 6 N. What is the acceleration of the rock?
krek1111 [17]
Answer:
acceleration = 3 m/s²

Explanation:
From Newton's second law:
Force = mass * acceleration
We are given that:
Force = 6 Newton
mass = 2 kg

Substitute with the givens in the above equation to get the acceleration as follows:
Force = mass * acceleration
6 = 2 * acceleration
acceleration = 6 / 2 = 3 m/s²

Hope this helps :)
