China has been trying to integrate Tibet into the Chinese society, in one way or another, since it incorporated it in its territory. The Chinese government invested heavily in Tibet, and improved the infrastructure and the living conditions, make it in the shape of the the developed ares in the east. Also, lot of Han Chinese were sponsored by the government to move to Tibet, so the Tibetans became a minority in Tibet very quickly. It is a process that is still going on, and it seems that manages to properly perform a cultural assimilation of the Tibetans.
