How many hours did it take him to finish the project?

Mathematics

First, find 20% of 5 hours. 20% is also 1/5 of something, and 1/5 of 5 is 1.
Multiply 5 by 3 for the 300%, getting 15 hours, and add 1 for the 20%.
He spent 16 hours on the project. Hope this helps!

A train travels between two stations 1/2 mile apart in a minimum time of 41 sec. If the train accelerates and decelerates at 8 f
igomit [66]
It is important to notice firs of all that the train with no stop acceleration and them no stop acceleration would have a faster travel between stops. given this is safe to assume that there is a period during while the train is not accelerating nor decelerating. To find the time that is speed is constant
let's assume non-stop accelerating and decelerating and the time lost (subtraction of both) is the time the train had constant speed:

assuming same time accelerating a decelerating we have that the distance is

x = voT + 1/2aT^2 (initiial speed = 0) (0.25 miles = 1320 feets)
1320 = 1/2 (8)(T/2)^2
T/2 = 18.17 seg
 T = 36.34 seg
time of constant speed
T = 41 -36.34 = 4.66 seg

maximum speed

v = v0 + aT (initial speed = 0)
v = 8(18.17)  (time accelerating)
v = 145.36 feets/sec

distance at full speed

x = v*t
x = 145.36*4.66 = 677.38 feets

Combine and Simplify:<br> 48 (1/4x - 1/3y - 2/6x - 3/8y - 2/3<br> WRITE 2 WAYS!
Bezzdna [24]

Answer:

Combining and simplifying 48(\frac{1}{4}x-\frac{1}{3}y-\frac{2}{6}x-\frac{3}{8}y-\frac{2}{3}) we get  \mathbf{-4x-34y-32} or we can write as \mathbf{48(\frac{-x}{12} -\frac{17y}{24}- \frac{2}{3})}

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to combine and simplify

48(\frac{1}{4}x-\frac{1}{3}y-\frac{2}{6}x-\frac{3}{8}y-\frac{2}{3})

First we will combine like terms and then perform the mathematical operations like addition or subtraction.

<u>Like terms</u>: terms having same variable

48(\frac{1}{4}x-\frac{2}{6}x-\frac{1}{3}y-\frac{3}{8}y-\frac{2}{3})

Now we take LCM of like terms

=48(\frac{1}{4}x-\frac{2}{6}x-\frac{1}{3}y-\frac{3}{8}y-\frac{2}{3})\\=48(\frac{x*3-2x*2}{12} +\frac{-y*8-3y*3}{24}- \frac{2}{3})\\=48(\frac{3x-4x}{12} +\frac{-8y-9y}{24}- \frac{2}{3})\\=48(\frac{-x}{12} +\frac{-17y}{24}- \frac{2}{3})\\=48(\frac{-x}{12} -\frac{17y}{24}- \frac{2}{3})

Now, we can multiply 48 with terms inside the bracket.

we can simplify the terms if they are both divisible by same number.

=48(\frac{-x}{12} -\frac{17y}{24}- \frac{2}{3})\\=48(\frac{-x}{12} )-48(\frac{17y}{24})-48(\frac{2}{3}))\\=-4x-34y-32

So, Combining and simplifying 48(\frac{1}{4}x-\frac{1}{3}y-\frac{2}{6}x-\frac{3}{8}y-\frac{2}{3}) we get  \mathbf{-4x-34y-32} or we can write as \mathbf{48(\frac{-x}{12} -\frac{17y}{24}- \frac{2}{3})}

26 adult tickets = $12 (cost of an adult movie ticket) • 26 = $312

There were $312 dollars worth of money sold from the adult tickets that were sold for the 10PM show.

$600 - $312 = $288

This means that there were $288 dollars worth of money sold from children’s tickets for the 10PM show.

Since each children ticket is $8, you would do

8x = $288

(X IS HOW MANY CHILDREN TICKETS THAT WERE SOLD)

Once you do that, you would simplify it by dividing 8x by 8 which would give you x by itself and do the same thing for the other side as you have to do the same for both sides of the equal sign. So, you would do $288 divided by 8 and get 36.

x = 36

To check our work, we will substitute the value of x into the equation

8(36) = $288
288 = $288

Therefore, there were 36 children tickets sold for the 10PM show.

using sine

sin 34 = opposite/hypotenuse

sin 34=3.4/x

make x subject of the formula

x =3.4/sin 34

x =6.08019161

x≈6.1(to the nearest tenth)
