Commoners paid the lowest amount to watch the plays held at the Globe Theatre. They spent a penny to attend and watch plays.  The Globe theatre was open to audiences in the summer, and the performances took place by daylight.  The popularity of the theatre reached people from all walks of life; from Royalty to the Nobility and the Commoners. The Lower Classes, the Commoners, were called the Stinkards or Groundlings and would stand in the theatre pit and pay 1d as entrance fee. They placed 1 penny in a box at the theatre entrance - hence the term 'Box Office' Nobles also watched the plays, but they paid higher prices since they got better seats to view the play in the Lord's rooms paying 5d for the privilege

mart [117]

Answer:

The Bayeux tapestry is one of the supreme achievements of the Norman Romanesque. Its survival almost intact over nine centuries is little short of miraculous.
