She curled an 8 inch by 10 inch rectangular piece of paper to form an open cylinder. A height of that cylinder is h = 10 in. Then 8 inches will represent the circumference of the base of the cylinder ( or the circumference of the circle, which represents the base ). Therefore: C = 2 r π, or: 8 = 2 r π. Now we can also calculate the radius of the base:
r = 8 : 2 π = 8 : 2 * 3.14 = 8 : 6.28 ≈ 1.27 in.
Answer: 8 inches will be the circumference of the base of the cylinder.

Factoring trinomials 3x^3-24x^2+45x
yarga [219]

Answer:

Option B: 3x(x - 3)(x - 5)

Step-by-step explanation:

The given polynomial is: 3x³ - 24x² + 45x

To factorize it: 3x³ - 24x² + 45x

Since, 3x is common through out we can take it out.

⇒               3x(x² - 8x + 15)

Now we have to factorize (x² - 8x + 15)

The roots of this quadratic equation is: 5, 3.

Therefore, x² - 8x + 15 = (x - 3)(x - 5)

Combining them, the factors of the polynomial would be:

(B)                                     3x(x - 3)(x - 5)

exis [7]
Equation=2a+3b=$14
=4a+5b=$24

Multiply the first equation by 4 and the second by 2 to get the value of b....
8a+12b=56 -
8a+10b=48
2b=8
b=$4
If the price of an orange is $4 we can now find the price of an apple by
.................2a+(3*$4)=$14
............2a+12=14........2a=2
a=1
So the cost of an apple is $1 and that of an orange is $4
......Hope it helps you

Find the volume V or height H of the cylinder. Round your answer to the nearest tenth
andrew-mc [135]
X = multiplication
h = height
r^2 = radius squared

Formula of a cylinder: Pi x r^2 x height

So, if 176 = 3.14... times 4^2  times h
Then, 176 = 3.14 times 16h
Next, 176 = 50.24h
Finally, 3.5 = h

You can then check your work by plugging 3.5 back in for the missing height and round to the nearest tenth. :) The answer should come out the same if done correctly.
