The waxy cuticle of leaves, skin and exoskeleton of insects are examples of mechanical aspects of immune system which protects from infection. The skin and respiratory tract secrete antibacterial peptides which acts as chemical barrier to protect from infection. The glands also produce many cells which are needed immune system. The spleen is such an example. It produces antibodies which fight infection. Leukocytes are the phagocytes which engulf microbial cells and large particles through phagocytosis process. Non-specific immune system presence since birth. It is first line of immunity against invading organisms. Non-specific immune system treat all foreign substances equally. Whereas, specific immune system is a second line of immunity composed of special cells which prevent pathogen growth.

Which of the following is an example of post-transcriptional control of gene expression?
konstantin123 [22]

Answer:

Option (c).

Explanation:

Transcription may be defined as the process of formation of RNA molecule from the template DNA with the help of enzymes and transcription factors. The transcription occurs in 5' to 3' direction.

Post trancriptional modification occurs in the RNA molecule that plays an important role in transcription as well as translation. The introns are removed from the RNA transcript and exons joined together is known as splicing. The alternative splicing occurs in which different protein isoforms are formed by the single exons.

Thus, the correct answer is option (c).
