You should strive to be happy and satisfied with yourself, learn how to love and appreciate yourself, and if you only want glory and that is the reason why you study and work, I don't think it will make you truly happy when and if you achieve it. Pursuing glory is something trivial when compared to other, more important motivations in life, such as self-accomplishment and genuine happiness and satisfaction. Even when you achieve that desired glory, I believe that feeling is fleeting and that you will want to achieve something else, which makes your initial motivation worthless.
