What promises did the British make during WWI? Did they follow through on those promises? Explain.

Answer: The British promised the Arabs independence.

Explanation:

During the First World War, the Arabs, on the initiative of the British, fought against the Ottoman Empire, which was waging war on the German side. In return, the British promised them independence. At the same time, the British agreed with the French to distribute what was to be taken away by the Ottomans after the war. In those circumstances, someone had to be tricked. After all, it was the Arabs. This contract with Arabs in history is known as Sykes-Picot.
