The Articles of Confederation gave the states most of the authority in government and gave the federal government very little power. The branch that had the most power was the legislative branch, the law-making body of government, since the Articles did not establish 3 separate branches (or system of checks and balances). The frames of the Articles did this because they feared that the federal government would get too powerful and oppressive, like the British monarch.

Snezhnost [94]

Answer:

Voting Rights Act.

Explanation:

The Voting Rights Act of 1965, approved by President Johnson, aimed at addressing legislative obstacles at the local and state level that prohibited African Americans from using their right to vote as provided by the 15th amendment of the constitution of the United States. The law forbade literacy testing and called for the installation of Federal examiners (with the authority to register registered people to vote) in those counties with a history of voter prejudice.
