Hey there,
Total distance = 7 / 10 x 4
                       = 2 4/5 miles
3 times = 2 4/5 x 3
            = 8 2/5
1/2 times = 2 4/5 / 1/2
                = 5 3 /5
8 2/5 + 5 3/5 = 14 miles

Hope this helps :))

Answer:

9.8 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Martha likes to walk around a square park.

1 lap is the perimeter of the square, then

2p = 7/10 +7/10+7/10+7/10= 28/10 =14/5 miles or 2.8 miles

3 laps and 1/2 =3.5 laps  *14/5 =49/5 miles or 9.8 miles.

She walke around the park 9.8 miles before stopping to rest.

A company produces and sells homemade candles and accessories. Their customers commonly order a large candle and a matching cand
Butoxors [25]

Answer:

P(T<683) = 0.1587 = 15.87% ≈ 16%.

Step-by-step explanation:

Normal Probability Distribution:

Problems of normal distributions can be solved using the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the z-score of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the p-value, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

Sum of normal variables:

When two normal variables are added, the mean is the sum of the means, while the standard deviation is the square root of the sum of the variances.

The weights of these candles have a mean of 500g and a standard deviation of 15g. The weights of the candle stands have a mean of 200g and a standard deviation of 8g.

The package consists of one candle of each type. So

\mu = 500 + 200 = 700

\sigma = \sqrt{15^2 + 8^2} = 17

Find the probability that the total weight is under 683g.

This is the pvalue of Z when X = 683.

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

Z = \frac{683 - 700}{17}

Z = -1

Z = -1 has a pvalue of 0.1587

So

P(T<683) = 0.1587 = 15.87% ≈ 16%.

There are two containers out of which one can hold 31/2 litres of oil while the other can hold 22/3 litres of oil. Suppose there
Pavel [41]

The volume of the oil required to fill both containers will be 128 liters.

<h3>What is volume?</h3>

Volume is defined as the space occupied by any object in the three-Dimensions. All three parameters are required for the volume like length, width, and height of cube or cubied.

Given that:-

  • There are two containers out of which one can hold 31/2 liters of oil while the other can hold 22/3 liters of oil.
  • Suppose there are 4 containers of the first type and 9 containers of the second type.

The volume of oil in the first container is \dfrac{31}{2} liters so for four containers the volume will be:-

V = 4 x  \dfrac{31}{2}

V = 2 x 31 = 62 liters

The volume of oil in the second container is \dfrac{22}{3} liters.

V = 9 x  \dfrac{22}{3}

V = 3 x 22 = 66 liters

So total volume of oil will be calculated as:-

Total volume = 66 + 62 = 128 liters

Therefore the volume of the oil required to fill both containers will be 128 liters.
