Introduction

Everyone loves to listen to stories. There is hardly anyone among us who has not heard a story during our childhood. Stories keeps children engaged and let them feel that they are also participating in the process of story telling. Language learning, any learning for that matter, happens when children are engaged in meaning making activities. If story telling is made into an interesting experience and fun filled activity where the listeners also participate in telling, guessing, manipulating, it could be a joyous learning experience.

Objectives

To develop an understanding among teachers about the importance of storytelling in language classroom.

The boy plays computer games only if his mother allows him.
makvit [3.9K]

Answer:

‘If his mother allows him’ is an adverb clause.

Explanation:

An adverb clause is the one that works similarly like an adverb. It generally modifies the main verb of the statement.

In the given sentence, the adverb clause modifies the main verb ‘plays’. It adds information to the verb in terms of a condition. Conditions generally begin with either ‘if’ or ‘whether’. It can be seen that the action of playing computer games will only occur when the condition of the boy’s mother allowing him is fulfilled. Therefore, it is an adverb clause in terms of a condition.
