The colonists argued that a direct tax was a violation of their rights because they did not get to elect the people who passed it. The colonies had no representation in the British Parliament.

Invasions lead by the nomads and intrusion within a country would obviously lead to tense relationships if any at all, causing the Zhou dynasty to attempt to block and fight the nomads back, thus the violent relationship.
