It is a normal thing to do and something that many best friends have done and still do to express their friendship. It does not imply anything more than close friends and I think most people would completely agree with this.
Yes as long as you guys are just best friends well it doesn’t really matter but you can do whatever u want as long as ur not dating someone and your best friend is the opposite sex
