So the total area will be two times the area of the trapezoid described for the top half.

The area of a trapezoid is:

A=h(b1+b2)/2 so two times that area is:

A=h(b1+b2), and we can see that h=12, b1=16, and b2=30 so

A=12(16+30)

A=552 in^2
