In 1839, a group of Africans took control of a Spanish ship called La Amistad that was bound for a port in Cuba where the Africa

ns were to be sold as slaves. After seizing the ship, the Africans demanded to be taken back to their homeland, but were tricked by the ship's navigator who set a course that took them along the coast of North America. La Amistad was eventually captured by the United States Navy, and the Africans were held as pirates. Though they were almost taken to be sold in a U.S. slave market, a court case arose regarding whether they could actually be considered slaves. Abolitionists came to the aid of the Africans, and the case eventually reached the Supreme Court in 1841. Which of the following best explains the result of the case above? A. The men were considered slaves since they were thought to be the property of Spain. B. The men were considered free since the Atlantic slave trade had been illegal since 1793. C. The men were considered slaves because slavery was legal in the U.S. at that time. D. The men were considered free because U.S. did not have diplomatic relations with Cuba.

B. The men were considered free since the Atlantic slave trade had been illegal since 1793

Given that slave trade had been illegal, the men were therefore never slaves. This means that they had been illegally kidnapped from their homes and were free to be returned to their homes.

Their eyes were watching god and how to read literature like a professor
raketka [301]

It seems like the question is asking introduction of the two books, which is as below;

Their Eyes Were Watching God is a 1937 narrative and the best known work by African-American essayist Zora Neale Hurston. The novel describes principle character Janie Crawford's aging from an energetic, however voiceless, adolescent young lady into a lady with her finger on her fate.

The second book How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas C. Foster that was printed in 2003. The creator proposes understandings of topics, ideas, and conceivable images usually found in writing.

There were Thirteen Colonies in United States who were the earliest settlers. Counties formed the local government in those Colonies to provide governance at microcosmic level. The first Counties were created in the Virginia state to provide assistance to Jamestown. It aims to ease the administrative workload.

Post Independence in 1776, the idea of local governments were not introduced.
