Find the area of the rectangle with the circles. Then find the area of each of the circles and add them together and minus that from the rectangle’s area.

A of rectangle = 30x10 = 300
A of circle = pi x r squared = pi x 25
A of shaded region = 300 - 75 pi = 68.3805cm square

Find the midpoint of the line segment whose endpoints are (-2, 5) and (6, -9). (4, -4) (2, -2) (1, -4)
Rus_ich [418]

Answer:

(2,-2)

Step-by-step explanation:

The midpoint of the line segment with endpoints (x_1,y_1) and (x_2,y_2) has coordinates

\left(\dfrac{x_1+x_2}{2},\dfrac{y_1+y_2}{2}\right)

If the endpoints of the line segment are (-2,5) and (6,-9), then the midpoint has the coordinates

\left(\dfrac{-2+6}{2},\dfrac{5+(-9)}{2}\right)\\ \\\left(\dfrac{4}{2},\dfrac{-4}{2}\right)\\ \\(2,-2)

If the point (3/5,4/5) corresponds to an angle θ in the unit circle, what is tan θ ?
serious [3.7K]
A point M on the unit circle could be represented by (x , y), which coordinates are nothing but cos Ф (for x) & sin Ф (for y, hence:

tan Ф = sin Ф / cos Ф ==> tan Ф (4/5) / (3/5) ==> tan Ф =(4/3).

Now let's calculate the angle: tan⁻¹Ф ==> tan⁻¹(4/3) ≈43°

The graph of y=sin(x-3π/2) is the graph of the y=sin(x) shifted in which direction
pychu [463]

Answer:

\frac{3\pi}{2}  units to the right

Step-by-step explanation:

If we have a parent function y = Sin(x), the function

  • y = Sin(x-b) would be the parent shifted b units right
  • y = Sin (x+b) would be the parent shifted b units left

The function given is y=Sin(x-\frac{3\pi}{2})

So from the rules, we can clearly say that it is parent function shifted RIGHT by  \frac{3\pi}{2} units.

2nd answer choice is correct.
