Science Mysteries: Why Do People Yawn?

English

Answer:

I believe the word that presents the author's view is indeed "dedicate".

Explanation:

When the author of the passage says, "Scientists dedicate their lives to knowledge," he is conveying a positive idea about scientists. Dedication is associated with commitment, discipline, which implies scientists are hard-working in their purposes. The author, even though saying scientists have failed when it comes to finding out why we yawn, is nevertheless presenting the positive image he has of scientists by using the word "dedicate".

I think it's dedicate. He puts the scientists in a good light even though they didn't find the answer to the mystery. Dedicate has a good connotation and it's probably the best answer.

alukav5142 [94]

Answer:

Lines 6-7 contributes to the development of a theme in the poem because it shows that beauty doesn't last forever it will fade away. "So Eden sank to grief." It says that Eden was paradise and it sank away. "So Dawn goes down to day." This shows that Dawn also sank away, which shows that beauty goes away, but never lasts.
