He profit on the sale of a small bag of popcorn is $1, while the profit on the sale of a medium bag of popcorn is $2. The Glee C

lub expects to sell fewer than 100 total bags of popcorn, but they hope to make more than $100 in profit. The system that represents this is s+m<100 and s+2m>100. The graph of the boundary lines is shown below. Which regions should be shaded (to form the solution)?

The first inequality is represented by the line with the y intercept of 100 (the "top" line). We need to pick a region that satisfies the inequality. Let's try the point (0, 0). If we sub in 0 for x and 0 for y, the inequality would look like this: 0 + 0 < 100. Is 0 less than 100? Yes of course it is. So the regoins that satisfy that inequality are regions 1 and 2. Now for the second inequality. Obviously, it is the other line, the "bottom" line with the y intercept of 50. If we sub in the same point of (0, 0), subbing in looks like this: 0 + 2(0) > 100. Is 0 greater than 100? Of course it's not. So the regions that satisfy this inequality are regions 2 and 3. The solution to an inequality is where the shading overlaps. For us that is in region 2 only. Your choice for the answer is c

Write H(t) for the amount spent in the United States on health care in year t, where t is measured in years since 2000. The rate
ella [17]

Answer: Linear model H(t)=9t+100 and H'(t) = 9 units.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

In 2000, amount spent = $100 billions

In 2010, amount spent = $190 billions.

So, rate of increase would be

\dfrac{190-100}{2010-2000}\\\\=\dfrac{90}{10}\\\\=9

So, linear model for H(t) would be

H(t)-190=9(t-10)\\\\H(t)=9t-90+190\\\\H(t)=9t+100

So, H'(t) would be 9.

Hence, linear model H(t)=9t+100 and H'(t) = 9 units.

Find the measure of line segment TU. Assume that lines which appear to be tangent to the circle are tangent.
Sedaia [141]

Given:

A figure of a circle. A secant SU and a tangent SR is drawn to the circle from the external point S.

To find:

The measure of the line segment TU.

Solution:

According to the secant tangent segment theorem, the square of tangent is equal to the product of secant and external segment of the secant.

Using secant tangent segment theorem, we get

SR^2=SU\times ST

(40)^2=(32+2x-2)\times (32)

1600=(30+2x)(32)

1600=960+64x

Subtract both sides by 960.

1600-960=64x

640=64x

Divide both sides by 64.

\dfrac{640}{64}=x

10=x

Now, the measure of the line segment TU is:

TU=2x-2

TU=2(10)-2

TU=20-2

TU=18

Therefore, the correct option is C.
