William Howard Taft was an old friend of President Theodore Roosevelt. He was born on 15th September 1857, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Taft became the 27th President of the United States in 1909 successfully succeeding Theodore Roosevelt.
In 1904, Taft was summoned to take the post of Secretary of War by the then President and an old friend of Taft, Theodore Roosevelt. He served as a Secretary of War from February 1904 to June 1908.
