Little Women is a domestic drama, based on author Louisa May Alcott's real family experience. The main characters are Meg (the eldest) Jo (tomboyish character inspired by Alcott) Beth (Timid and tender, who dies of scarlet fever) and Amy (at 12, the youngest, who has the mind of an artist) the book takes place during the civil war and follows tragic and joyful events in the lives of the girls and their neighbor, Laurie, with father away at war.
