His mother's own behavior changed rapidly; when his father was away all day at work, she would lie on the couch in her bathroom and watch television, only getting up to go to the bathroom. She started to yell at them, losing her nurturing voice. Dave was able to determine what kind of day he would have based on how she was dressed–when she was put together and wearing makeup, that would be a good day.

At long last, she placed a plate of leftovers in front of him and told him he had two minutes to eat—but as soon as he started eating it, she pulled it away from him and threw it out. ----------his mother played another cruel game with him. She put a bucket of ammonia and Clorox in the bathroom with him and shut the door.--------mother made him take a job mowing lawns, which was not successful; instead, he ended up punished because one client felt bad for him and gave him a bag of lunch. His mother made him sit on rocks in the backyard while she took "her sons" to the zoo (pg. 65), and then had him lie in a freezing cold bathtub with his face submerged in the water so he could not breathe.

  8. The story was that david fell out of his bed.-------- ON the second occasion she had said he was playing with fire in the garage.
  9. while the rest of the family goes camping he goes to ant josies and he ran away to be with his family.

Which statements help to describe/define symbolism? Select all that apply.
Ber [7]

The statements that help to describe and define symbolism are the following ones: The use of objects to represent abstract ideas and the use of a heart to stand for love in a piece of visual art. The fact is that symbolism is the use of symbols to signify ideas and features by means of giving them symbolic meanings that differ from their literal sense. It can take different forms: It can either be an object, an action or a word representing something else that has an entirely different meaning that is much deeper and significant.

Research Sutton Hoo and write an essay of at least 250 words about what you have learned.
lesya692 [45]

Sutton Hoo is the name of the place located in Suffolk, United Kingdom in which were found in 1939 remains of a funerary ship of the seventh century as well as various utensils.

Sutton Hoo has been of vital importance to the historians of the Middle Ages since he contributed information about that period in England; period that until the finding was very little documented. It is one of the main archaeological discoveries of all the United Kingdom by its antiquity, size, rarity and historical importance.

Sutton Hoo is on a cliff on the right bank of the River Deben. In 1601 several funerary mounds were discovered in the area. Modern archaeological research began in 1938. One year later the funerary ship was found. Later excavations were made in the late 1960s and between 1986 and 1992.

The findings are dated around the year 625 thanks to some gold coins that were found with the treasure. The ship is about thirty meters long. It had an open cover and a burial chamber. It is unknown if it came to navigate, but it is known that it is the work of professional artisans.

The treasure found in Sutton Hoo is extensive. The vast majority of the findings are exhibited in the British Museum. Includes: personal ornaments made in gold and silver, weapons such as swords and helmets, a lira and household items such as a cauldron. Rests of tissues of all kinds were also found.
