Well first you have to set the variable to one side usually you would subtract or add the variable that is the smallest to the next side now with that done you would be left with one variable at one side so if ou know how to solve an equation with one variale in one side you can do it from there on
Here is an E.J. lets say you have the equation of 3x +16=x+6
ok first get the the x that is the smallest to the other side, in this case the smallest is the x that it is by itself so now subtract it because it is a positve... Now you are left with 2x+16=6 now you have to leave the x by itself so subtract the 16 from both sides (because 16 is a positive) now you are left with 2x=-10. Now divide both sides by 2 to leave the x by itself, when you do so you will be left with x=-5
Hope I explained it enough and that it helps you
I think the answer is 326.28. (don't know for sure tho)

<em>10 + 4</em><em />
<em>add/subtract </em><em>² = 6</em>
<em>=10 + 4</em><em> + </em><em>² - 6</em>
<em>Refine</em>
<em>= </em><em> ² + 4</em><em> + 4</em>
<em>rewrite </em><em>↑</em><em> as </em><em>² + 2</em><em> * 2 + 2²</em>
<em>apply Perfect Square Formula (a + b)² = a² + 2ab +²</em>
<em>a = </em><em>, b=2</em>
<em>= (</em><em> + 2)²</em>
<em>= </em><em>2square </em>

posting others as picture (have an account with Symbolab to help me as well. Just taking too long to type in the step by step if you need it. all pictures have the decimal result.
AC side and BC side have the same length because ΔCDA and ΔCDE are congruent.
The equation will be
AC = BC
Solve the equation
AC = BC
2x = 3x - 10
2x - 3x = -10
-x = -10
x = 10
The value of x is 10
