That world of gentle winds and warm, glowing sunshine, is where she belonged. The world of music and glistening moonlight is where she deserved to be placed. Not in the world of gloom.

It depends on the kids! However, in general, involving the students in making it- like a student council or something, gets them to promote it to their friends as well. Other ways are to have them come up with and vote for themes they'd want, so that they're actually excited about them. As for food drives, there could be a small incentive tied together with donating, like a small keychain or something.
