Answer: I should its height. I cannot do either, because if I double the radius, the Volume will quadruplicate.

Step-by-step explanation: the volume of a cylinder is

V = Ab.h = πr².h

Double h

V₁ = πr².2h = 2πr².h = 2V

Double r

V₂ = π(2r)².h = π4r².h = 4πr².h = 4V

John is 3 years older than Jim. Jim is 4 years less than twice David’s age. How old are the three boys if their ages add up to 3
gulaghasi [49]

Answer:

15  years , 12  years , 8 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

John is 3 years older than Jim.

Jim is 4 years less than twice David’s age.

Ages of three boys add up to 35.

Question asked:

How old are the three boys?

Solution:

Let age of David = y

Let age of Jim = x

Then age of John will be = x + 3

As Jim is 4 years less than twice David’s age

Equation will be  , x = 2y - 4

Multiplying both side  by 2

                       = 2x = 4y - 8  (let equation 1 )

As ages of three boys add up to 35.

Equation will be,x + (x + 3) + y = 35

                           = 2x + 3 + y = 35

Subtracting both side by 3

                           =   2x + y = 32

                          = 2x = - y + 32  (let equation 2 )

subtracting equation 1 and 2,we get

                           =  2x = - y + 32

                          =   2x = 4y - 8

                          =  0 = - 5y + 40

                          = 5y = 40

dividing both side by 5

                              = y = 8 (David ages)

Then  ( age of Jim)  x = 2y - 4

                                 x = 2 \times8 - 4

                                    = 16 - 4

                                    = 12 years

Then age of John will be, x + 3

                                            = 12 + 3

                                            = 15 years

Thus, age of John = 15 years

Age of Jim = 12 years

Age of David = 8 years

a. Robbie's field of view to the North end includes parts not on the football field. so to find the area of the football field he can see, we need to find:

total area of what Robbie sees - area of non football field Robbie sees

what you shaded represents the total of what Robbie sees. it's a triangle. area of a triangle is 1/2(b)(h) where h is distance away and b is width of view.

total area = 1/2(170)(30.92) = 2628.56 yd

area of non football field (pipe to South end)

= 1/2(50)(9.1) = 227.5

so 2628.56 - 227.5 = 2401.06

b. area found in part a / total area of football field

2401.06 / (120*53.3) = .3754

.3754 * 100 = 37.54%

c. the chance of Robbie seeing the touchdown depends on how much of the (North) endzone he can see.

area of north endzone is

10 * 53.3 = 533.

area Robbie sees in endzone is

2628.56 - 2328.48 = 300.08

(found by total area Robbie sees - area of non endzone Robbie sees)

300.08 / 533 = 0.563

= 56.3%

Dori and Nemo go to Taco Bell for lunch. Dori orders three soft tacos and three double Deckers $11.25. Nemiah pays $10 for four
gavmur [86]

Answer:

Dori:3x+3y=11.25

Nemo:4x+2y=10

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x and y represent tacos and double Deckers respectively.

For three tacos and three double Deckers, Dori pays $11.25

Writing an equation the statement, we obtain

3x+3y=11.25

Also, for four tacos and two double Deckers, Nemo pays $10

This implies

4x+2y=10
