Some people wanted the soldiers to stay so they could end communism all over the world. The would want to push it back so it wouldn't spread.

But a lot more people wanted the soldiers to come back because they didn't trust the government. They would say everything is under control in Vietnam but the poeple would also hear different stories that are negative in Vietnam. Some people favored the war because they believed the US had an important role to play in the global world. They believed that communism had to be contained at all costs. Others opposed the war because they could not square US involvement in the war with the growing crisis of values and morals about the conduct of the war.

When Alexander took the throne, he vowed to complete the plans of his father. After three grueling years of warfare, Alexander smashed the Persian armies at the Tigris River and conquered the Persian Empire. While fighting the Persians, Alexander conquered Egypt and founded a city at the mouth of the Nile River (Alexandria). He continued his campaign until he reached India and the Indus River.
