Which relation is a function? Please help I need asap

Mathematics

Answer:

Probably A, can't see all of D

Step-by-step explanation:

I can't see the last of D, so I will still try.

A function means that each x only goes to one y, but each y can have multiple xs going to it.  If that's hard to understand, on the table, if you have two of the same xs on the x side, they HAVE to have the same y on the y side.  Simple as that.

Right away, A looks right since it doesn't repeat anything on the x side, it has 4, 5, 6 and 7.  Let's look at the others.

B repeats 3, but the ys are different, one has 10 and one has 30, so this isn't a function.  They would both have to be 10 or 30 or some other number.

C repeats -5 and both have a different y, 2 and 3, so not a function

D I can only see the first two x entries so I can't be sure, so maybe you can tell.  If there is any repeat int he x side and the corresponding y side isn't the same then it also isn't the function.  i have to assume there is a repeat though.

Triangle ABC is an isosceles triangle in which side
Shkiper50 [21]

Answer:

Option B.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the below figure attached with this question.

It is given that triangle ABC is an isosceles triangle.

From the below figure it is clear that the vertices of triangle are A(-2,-4), B(2,-1) and C(3,-4).

Distance formula:

d=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

Using this formula, we get

AB=\sqrt{(2-(-2))^2+(-1-(-4))^2}=\sqrt{16+9}=5

BC=\sqrt{(3-2)^2+(-4-(-1))^2}=\sqrt{1+9}=\sqrt{10}

AC=\sqrt{(3-(-2))^2+(-4-(-4))^2}=\sqrt{25}=5

Now,

Perimeter of triangle ABC = AB + BC + AC

                        =5+\sqrt{10}+5

                        =10+\sqrt{10}

So, perimeter of triangle ABC is 10+\sqrt{10} units.

Therefore, the correct option is B.

Wizer.me<br> What is the leading coefficient of this polynomial?<br> 4x3+8x5-4x2+1x
lakkis [162]

Answer:

8 is the required answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

In a polynomial, the leading term is the term with the highest power of x.

8x^5  is the leading term. So, coefficient is 8.

BRAINLIEST!!! 20 POINTS<br> What is the rate of change?
kvv77 [185]

Answer:

The rate of change is $15/day

Step-by-step explanation:

The rate of change, using the points (1,60) and (5,120)

m= (y2-y1) / (x2-x1)

  = (120-60)/ (5-1)

  = 60/4

  = 15

The rate of change is $15/day

Let X and Y be random variables with the following joint moment generating function: M_{X,Y}(s,t)=0.1+0.2e^s+0.3e^t+0.4e^{s+t}
MA_775_DIABLO [31]

We obtain the joint PMF directly from the joint MGF:

M_{X,Y}(s,t)=0.1+0.2e^s+0.3e^t+0.4e^{s+t}

\implies\mathrm{Pr}[X=x,Y=y]=\begin{cases}0.1&\text{for }x=y=0\\0.2&\text{for }x=1,y=0\\0.3&\text{for }x=0,y=1\\0.4&\text{for }x=y=1\\0&\text{otherwise}\end{cases}

Then

\mathrm{Pr}[X=Y]=\mathrm{Pr}[X=Y=0]+\mathrm{Pr}[X=Y=1]=0.1+0.4=\boxed{0.5}
