When a point or figure on a coordinate plane is moved by sliding it to the right or left or up or down, the movement is called a translation. The figure is translated from one position to another. Example 1: A point is located at (3, 7) on the coordinate plane.

To translate a figure on a coordinate plane, it is basically moving it so many units horizontally or so many units vertical by counting the amount of units you have on weather it is positive or negative. If it looks like (7,-2) The 7 is your x value, so you would move it 7 to the right and place your first point there and do that to the rest of your points. Now the -2 is your y value, so you would move your first point down 2 and do that to the rest of your points!

Determine if the sequence is geometric. If it is, find the common ratio.
Akimi4 [234]

Answer:

  1. -1/3
  2. not geometric
  3. -5
  4. 4

Step-by-step explanation:

You find the ratio of terms by dividing the second by the first. If the ratio is the same for all adjacent pairs of terms, it is a "common" ratio.

1) (2/3)/-2 = -1/3

  (-2/9)/(2/3) = -1/3

  (2/27)/(-2/9) = -1/3 . . . . . the common ratio is -1/3

___

2) 2/0 = undefined . . . . not a geometric sequence

___

3) -10/2 = -5

  50/-10 = -5

  -250/50 = -5 . . . . . the common ratio is -5

___

4) 4/1 = 4

  16/4 = 4

  64/16 = 4 . . . . . the common ratio is 4

Peter uses unit cubes to build a figure in the shape of the letter x. What is the fewest unit cub es that peter can use to build
Akimi4 [234]
X letter is formed by two lines. The minimum amount of cubes that one side may have to look a line that cross other line is 3, but given that one cube is shared by the two lines you only need 5 cubes. So the answer is that the fewest unit cubes that Peter can use to build the figue in the shpe of X is 5 cubes.

Click on the picture to look at some equivalent fractions. Look at them closely. Can you see a relationship of any kind between
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

when you simplify 2/4 it equals 1/2. Making them both equal the same.

2/3 when you double the numbers to make a bigger fraction you make 4/6.

2x2 = 4/ 3x3= /6 = 4/6

3/9 simplified is 1/3. Three goes into three one time, making the top one and three goes into 9 three times making the bottom 3.

When 9/12 is rounded down it is equivalent to 3/4
