The Fall of Constantinople by the Ottoman army happened on May 29, 1453, it took 53 days because the Ottoman Army did a siege that began on April 6th.

An ambassador was sent to Constantinople to offer a lift of the siege if they gave up on it, this way the Emperor and the inhabitants would leave with their possessions, or they could remain in the city if they wanted. This was not accepted. On May 29 an all-out offensive began, and they were able to take the city. They used “bronze bombards” at the siege so they could breach the city’s walls.

Zanzabum
Well before slavery in America, there was an agreement of some sort where people would come to the new land poor and work for them for at least 7 years, however, America started to think "What if we had PERMANENT slaves which we could treat however we wanted” and then they sailed to Africa where they traded with the African leader for Negros to use.”

The US wanted this strip of land to complete the southern branch of the Transcontinental Railroad.
