The late 20th century was a time of major geopolitical upheaval in Eastern Europe. The fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989 put an end to the Cold War and the divisions that dated back to the Second World War. 1 The fall of the Communist bloc brought about the end of a bipolar world built around the rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union. 2 Economic and military structures such as Comecon (the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance) and the Warsaw Pact were dissolved in 1991. 3 The events of the late 1980s marked the beginning of improved relations between two parts of the continent that had long been divided.

Nataliya [291]

Answer:

superincumbent load in rock slab

Explanation:

  • This pressure is defined as the geothermal pressure that the rocks excerpt from above the surface of the earth which is caused by the weighting of the overlying rock strata.
  • This identification can be found in geology itself in terms of fluids and natural gases which led to the formation of coal deposits millions of years ago. With great pressure and thrust from the rocks
  • This burning pressure that the rocks feel from above as in the case of earth core and mantle layers. A tectonic plate is subdued to greater depths here and this layer and hence more pressure from the remaining earth mass from above.

Kryger [21]

Answer:

The correct answer is - the direction of the points of the V shapes on contour lines.

The contour lines can tell us a lot about the shape of the relief structures on the maps, and of the things that we can also see is the path of the rivers. When the rivers are running through a steeper part, practically their upstream, because they manage to cut and shape the relief structures around them, the contour lines take up a specific V shape. The points of the V are always on the river itself, and they point to the direction from where it is coming from, thus following the points of the V shape can bring us very easily to the upstream of the river.
