He decides that he should continue to live on, a noble decision, because he doesn’t know what death may bring. Comparing death to the sleep, Hamlet characterizes death as  everlasting nightmare, which can be seen in third and fourth line: “The undiscovered country, from whose bourn / No traveller returns, puzzles the will”/ “And makes us rather bear those ills we have / Than fly to others that we know not of?”
