Many Italian immigrants came to America in the 1800s and 1900s. One of these neighborhoods was "Little Italy" in New York City, where one of America's first pizza restaurants opened in 1905 . Finally, in the 1950s, many Americans opened "pizza parlors" that specialized in baking all kinds of pizza pies. Americans realized that pizza was delicious, fun, and convenient.
