Saratoga established US control. It is often viewed as a turning point of the war, as it was after this battle that Benjamin Franklin was able to convince the French to ally with the United States to help the colonies win the war.
The Battle of Vincennes took place in Vincennes Indiana in 1779. The British Army occupied the fort of Vincennes and were surrounded by the patriot army, there were three days of fighting and at the end, the British army surrendered the fort to the patriots.
