So if you have 9 cats and they each have 9 kittens, then a reasonaable estimate is 10 times 9 since 10 is close to 9 so that is 90 and the answer is 81
you would knwo if you got 988387479 kittens if you got a problem because that is nowhere close to 90

and who do you call? ghostbusters!

Is 14/4573 a rational number?
Reika [66]
Yes, once again, The only irrational numbers are the ones with a square root. A rational number is a whole number, a fraction (unless the denominator is 0), a mixed number, or a decimal number. If you had the square root of 4, that would be rational because it can be simplified to 2 or -2. so there for it shall be rational number.

Part A: Parallel lines are two lines that never meet. Find an example that contradicts this definition. How would you change the
Phoenix [80]

Answer:

The problem in the first statement is that it does not say that the lines must be in the same plane.

Suppose in a 3D coordinate axis two lines as:

z = 0, y = 0 (this is the x-axis)

y = 1, x = 0 (this line is parallel to the z-axis but one unit above).

Those two lines are not parallel, and also never meet, so the definition is wrong.

The actual definition should be:

"Parallel lines are two lines that lie on the same plane and never meet"

B: The undefined terms are point, line, plane,...

An example can be "Plane", because if our lines do not lie on the same plane, then we can not use the concept of "parallel lines".

Can someone show how to solve this step by steps
horrorfan [7]

Answer:

$133.33

Step-by-step explanation:

When dealing with such a problem we can use the Rule of Three. This rule is basically used in order to find the missing value when dealing with a ratio. Like so...

12% of final price  <======>   $16

100% of final price   <=====>   x

Now we multiply the two available diagonal values together and divide by the last value in order to get the value of the variable, which in this case would be the original price in dollars

(100 * 16) / 12 = x

1600 / 12 = x

133.33 = x

Finally, we can see that the original price of the item was $133.33
