Answer:

The value of given expression i.e Ф is 90°  and - 30°

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

4 cos²Ф + 2 sinФ = 2

∵  sin²Ф +  cos²Ф = 1  ,  so ,  cos²Ф = 1 -  sin²Ф

Or, 4 ( 1 - sin²Ф ) + 2 sinФ = 2

Or, 4 - 4 sin²Ф + 2 sinФ = 2

or, 4 sin²Ф - 2 sinФ - 4 + 2 = 0

or, 4 sin²Ф - 2 sinФ - 2 = 0

or, 2 sin²Ф -  sinФ - 1 = 0

or, 2 sin²Ф - 2 sinФ +  sinФ - 1 = 0

Or, 2 sinФ ( sinФ - 1 ) + 1 ( sinФ - 1 ) = 0

∴  ( sinФ - 1 ) ( 2 sinФ + 1 ) = 0

i.e  ( sinФ - 1 ) = 0  And  ( 2 sinФ + 1 ) = 0

since   ( sinФ - 1 ) = 0

So, sinФ  = 1

Or,  Ф = sin^{-1}(1) = 90°

And ( 2 sinФ + 1 ) = 0

Or,  2 sinФ = - 1

Or,  sinФ = - \frac{1}{2}

Or,   Ф = sin^{-1}(-\frac{1}{2}) = - 30°

Hence the value of given expression i.e Ф is 90°  and - 30°    Answer

What type of triangle is defined by the following set of side lengths
NARA [144]

Answer:

<u>ACUTE</u><u> </u><u>TRIANGLE</u><u> </u>

Step-by-step explanation:

If the sum of the squares of the two shorter sides of a triangle is greater than the square of the longest side, the triangle is acute. However, if the sum of the squares of the two shorter sides of a triangle is smaller than the square of the longest side, the triangle is obtuse.

Therefore, the triangle with sides 11, 9, and 7 is an acute triangle since 9² + 7² is greater than 11²

{9}^{2}  \:  +  \:  {7}^{2}  >  \: {11}^{2}  \\ 130 > 121

At a game booth, a student gets a box of candy as the prize for winning a game. The boxes come in four colors: white, red, green
Amanda [17]

8 over 32 multiplied by 7 over 31 would be your answer for that question. the second part would be 7 over 31 because one of the boxes were already taken leaving us with only 7 not 8.

Lucy earns money babysitting. Her earnings and hours worked represent a direct variation. She worked for 4 hours and earned $25.
SashulF [63]

For this case we have that by definition, a direct variation is given in the form:

y = kx

Where:

k: It is the constant of proportionality

According to the statement we have to:

y = 25\\x = 4

Substituting:

25 = k4\\k = \frac {25} {4}k = 6.25\ for\ \frac {dollars} {hour}

On the other hand we have:

y = 4\\x = 25\\4 = k25\\k = \frac {4} {25}

k = 0.16\ for\ \frac {hours} {dollar}

Answer:

k = 6.25 for \frac {dollars} {hour}\\k = 0.16 for \frac {hours} {dollar}
