In subsequent years this type of text spread to other countries in Europe and later to the U.S. and also, during this process multiple writes analyzed different subjects by using the essay. Usually when an author puts the a certain word in quotation marks when it’s not technically supposed to be there is when they are trying to be sarcastic. For example-
If I knew a boy that wasn’t the most bright person and I wanted to be sarcastic I would say Oh yeah, he’s real “bright”.
