Answer:

Create new styles of art that rejected traditional ideals.

Explanation:

After World War I, the world was in shock. Artists believed that nothing could ever be the same, and that the devastation they had experienced had completely altered their world. Their reaction was to try to create a new world, something that rejected the sad past and instead celebrated the future. The result was Modernism, and the very different currents that derive from it. This movement was influential in all arts, including sculpture, painting, architecture, literature and music.

Which of the following Enlightenment thinkers is correctly matched?
AleksAgata [21]

The Enlightenment thinkers correctly matched is A. John Locke - natural rights.

Enlightenment thinkers

Enlightenment thinkers are philosophers that questioned traditional authority and pressed on the notion that human reasoning could be improved through rationality. These thinkers added value to reason, science, religion and “natural rights” such as life, liberty, and property.

Who were the Enlightenment thinkers ?

 • Adam Smith.
 • Baron de Montesquieu.
 • Benjamin Franklin.
 • Jean Jacques Rousseau.
 • John Locke.
 • Mary Wollstonecraft.
 • Olympe de Gouge.
 • Thomas Hobbes

We are more concerned about;

John Locke debated that natural rights which include life, liberty, and property should never be denied an individual or surrendered by a person as it was given by nature.

Jean- Jacques Rousseau believed in introducing political and ethical thinking into new channels. He sharpened music, arts and trade.

Baron de Montesquieu proposed that the best form of government was one built on the delegation of power and kept in check to avoid one from becoming too powerful in the expense of the other.

Hence, the Enlightenment thinkers correctly matched is John Locke ( natural rights).

When the Supreme Court declares a law that was created by congress unconstitutional its an example of
Kisachek [45]
I believe it is an example of check and balances. Checks and balances, principle of government under which separate branches are empowered to prevent actions by other branches and are induced to share power. They are applied primarily in constitutional governments. The system of check and balances is used to keep the government from getting too powerful in one branch. For example, the Executive Branch can veto bills from the Legislative Branch, but the Legislative Branch can override the veto.
