I have homework and i dont understand it its called "Solving Systems of Equations by Elimination." The problem im stuck on is<br />
8x+y=-16

-3x+y=-5

I need the answer and how to do it.

First you multiply 8×16 when you find your answer then you add it your answer should be 136

Answer 2

You add the equations together making sure one of the variables disappears by making one negative and one positive. In this situation y would alrady disappear    8x+y=-16
