And sailed aboard the Matthew

On June 24, 1497

He saw some land that looked like heaven

Mistaking it for the Asians

He claimed the land for England

After John returned to England

He was very triumphant

He even asked for another voyage

Which was very courageous

For he didn’t know about his mysterious end

Yes yes yes yes that is true

He disappeared out of the blue

And no soul has ever lied

That no one knows how he died
