Answer:  The correct answer is : He planted seeds for the direct participation of people in a democratic government.

Explanation:  Solon was a Greek who established laws that eased the burden of farmers' debt and also forbade the slavery of the inhabitants of Athens on debt issues. He also introduced democratic reforms such as the formation of the council of the four hundred. Solon divided Athens into four classes: Thetes, Zeugitai, Hippeis and Pentacosiomedimni, the latter being the highest, from which the members of the government could be chosen.

Truth is, we know very little about Solon, only fragments of his original works survived to our days. From Herodotus and Plutarch we know about the reforms he made to the city of Athens, these reforms failed in the short term, but planted the seeds for Athenian democracy.

Stalin referred to the Soviet Union as a republic. Why was this misleading?
vivado [14]
The official definition of a republic is any state that doesn’t have a monarch. That said, republicanism and republics have been closely affiliated with democracy, because the reason most people hated monarchs in the first place, was because they were not elected by the population.
So while Stalin was right on paper, it is quite misleading because it might lead to some people believing Stalinist Soviet Union was democratic, when in fact it was a dictatorship.

How does the event depicted in the painting reflect the fall of the Bryzantine Empire?
Leno4ka [110]

Answer:

The painting shown is depicting the fall of the Byzantine Empire by war, and by the fall of its capital, Constantinople. In this painting we can see the walls of Constantinople being defended by the Byzantine forces, but the Ottomans manage to over come them by both land and sea. The Ottomans are getting up the defense walls and get into Constantinople, largely outnumbering the defense forces, and capture the city. The fall of Constantinople marks the end of the great Byzantine Empire that lasted a whole millennium more then its western counterpart, the Roman Empire.
