So I'm writing a book, but I'm new to this. I am not sure how I am supposed to put the quotes in relation to each other. Could s

omeone give me an example or help me. For example, how would I space this out?
I'm not very far from school, but far enough away that no one could see the incident happen. I get to the school in about 2 minutes, that's from where I ran into Ryan. When I get to the front of the school, I park my bike, run as fast as I can to Drivers Ed; and just when I think I may make it, I don't. "Ms. Williams," said the teacher, Mr. McCarver, "You have been a part of this school for 12 years, you should know now that lateness is never tolerated for any reason. Now go in that room over there and wait until the end of class. You may listen, but you will not be allowed to get your license today. Do you understand?" Standing in disappointment, I quickly reply, "Yes sir." At that, I walk into the small room, designated for students who are late for their drivers class.

What is the mood of the excerpt? foreboding welcoming sorrowful optimistic
iogann1982 [59]

Not having the excerpt here, I can only help you to find the answer.  Mood is the feeling you get when you read the passage.  Foreboding is fearful or apprehensive.  Welcoming is or can be joyful and accommodating or making someone feel comfortable in their surroundings.  Sorrowful is sad or mournful.  Optimistic is positive, hopeful, and confident about your future.  As you read the passage, which of these are you feeling or closely matches your feelings.
