Formula for hypotenuse:
\sqrt{ a^{2} + b^{2} }=c

a would be AC
b would be CB
c is AB

\sqrt{ 2^{2}  +2^{2} }
\sqrt{4+4}
\sqrt{8}

It is \sqrt{8} or 2\sqrt{2} or about <span>2.83</span>

Short Answer: x = 2*sqrt(2)
The Pythagorean Theorem states that
a^2 + b^2 = c^2

Givens
a = 2
b = 2
c = ???

Sub and solve
2^2 + 2^2 = c^2
c^2 = 4 + 4
c^2 = 8                                  Take the sqrt of both sides of the equation
sqrt(c^2) = sqrt(8)                 Express 8 in it's prime factor form.
sqrt(c^2) = sqrt(2 * 2 * 2)

The rule about square roots is
If you have a pair of prime factors under the root sign, you take out one of the prime factors and throw the other one away.

sqrt(c^2) = 2*sqr(2)

Answer:

  (f×g)(2) = 3/4

Step-by-step explanation:

For each of the functions, put 2 where x is and evaluate the expression.

  f(2) = (3 -2)/(2² +4) = 1/8

  g(2) = 3×2 = 6

Then the product is ...

  (f×g)(2) = f(2)×g(2) = (1/8)×6 = 6/8

  (f×g)(2) = 3/4

Answer:

  top down: ∞, 0, 1, 0, ∞

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation will have infinite solutions when the left side and right side simplify to the same expression. This is the case for the first and last expressions listed.

  2(x -5) = 2(x -5) . . . . expressions are already identical

  x +2(x -5) = 3(x -2) -4  ⇒  3x -10 = 3x -10 . . . the same simplified expression

__

The equation will have no solutions when the x-coefficients are the same, but there are different added constants.

  5(x +4) = 5(x -6)  ⇒  x +4 = x -6  . . .  not true for any x

  4(x -2) = 4(x +2)  ⇒  x -2 = x +2  . . .  not true for any x

__

The equation will have one solution when coefficients of x are different.

  5(x +4) = 3(x -6)  ⇒  2x = -38  ⇒ x = -19
