Black people endured segregation and ongoing bigotry for years after Plessy v. Ferguson was upheld. They argued that it was a political divide rather than segregation. Only until it was questioned whether racially segregated facilities and services were actually constitutional in Brown v. Board of Education was that ruling become final.

20. Q: Islam highly prized education and knowledge. Name three achievements of the Islamic Kingdoms and explain.
jenyasd209 [6]
The first positive impact of Islam in the world can be seen in the encouragement of Muslims to the pursuit of knowledge, as prophet Mohammed said, the best form of worship is the pursuit of knowledge. Islam is the only religion that has raised the prestige of women from one of the poorly humiliated creature, to that of a respectful being possessing equal rights to man. Under the wrong ideological concept of child marriage by the non-Muslims, the Muslims have been criticized by the western media but in fact there is no concept of child marriage in Islam and such incidents are purely restricted to few old customed tribes. slam abolished the barriers which had isolated these countries from each other, so that the whole area now had one religious tradition and one literary and scientific language. The cultural unity also ensured free passage and free trade from China in the east to Spain in the west. Scientists and men of letters were free to travel, and crossed vast distances to meet other scholars.

The Louisiana Purchase
Sveta_85 [38]
The Louisiana Purchase was actually a pretty shady deal. Jefferson bought it from the french without the approval of the people. His goal was that he wanted to expand the territory of the U.S. Previously the american people wouldn't go past the mountain range for fear of foreign colonies and native Americans. This purchase also ended up opening a trade route from coast to coast. While technically Lewis and Clarke went farther than they were supposed to, there was no one that could really contest them.
