Injured cartilage might heal more quickly if a treatment were discovered that would __________. prevent chondrocytes from dividi
Leto [7]

Answer:

stimulate blood vessels to develop within cartilage

Explanation:

Most connective tissue, cartilage includes have a very inadequate blood supply because it has no blood vessels innervations in it. It relies on diffusion for nutrient supply of the chondrocytes cells. This is why the chondrocytes divide very slowly compared to other cells. This is exactly the same reason why healing of cartilage takes more time to heal. In addition, due to the chondrocytes fixed position in lacunae, they cannot migrate to a  scar to begin the healing process. Cartilages attempt to repair themselves usually by fibrocartilage scar tissue that is not ideal for restoration of movement at a joint.
