The English crown was bankrupted by the war effort in France and it caused great dispute between the English nobles. It wasn’t economically, militarily, or politically viable to try and take France. Truth be told, England suffered 30 years of civil conflict following the Hundred Years War, which resulted in the rise of Tudors in England.

The turning tide for the French war effort what when Joan of Arc helped solidify the sense of nationalism which was growing in France.
