The main reason why these Africans were treated so badly despite the many deaths that it caused was to instill in them a sense of fear, so that they would be less likely to rebel.

How did henry knox help general washington recapture boston after the battle of bunker hill?

After the battle of Bunker Hill, Henry Knox was able to help General Washington by coming up with a plan to transfer the guns from Ticonderoga into Boston. Knox gained Washington's favor and was promoted to being a colonel general. By December 1775, Knox was able to bring him 69 guns and ammunition for the troops. This was a crucial step taken towards gaining back Boston from the British.
