The people that could vote in the American colonies were white men, over twenty-one years old that had some kind of property. The colonist who arrived at Virginia and settled in the Jamestown colony in 1607, were the ones that conducted the first election in the American territory. But the first representative assembly in Jamestown colony had its session in Jamestown church on July 30, 1919.
