Harvesting weat was a difficult challenge until the invention of the mechanical reaper. Weat, like any other food source, weat and rice was most consumed and produced in both northern and southern america. Today the production of weat has went down so therefore we aren't producing that much like we use to but we have found better and easier ways to use it.
