California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas are all the states that border the country of Mexico. A big percentage of the people that live in these states came from Mexico and moved there. Those areas were called, all together, the Viceroyalty of New Spain. The only difference was that Texas was not influenced by Spanish American culture, compared to all the rest.
