Censured--The Senate vote to censure Joseph McCarthy after his disgraceful showing during the McCarthy Army Hearings. 

Joseph McCarthy accused the army of being "soft on communism" and began investigating the army for communists. He behavior during the hearings was paranoid and unconventional. He was finally exposed for his "witch hunt" tactics and the Senate began investigating him. The Senate ultimately voted to censure him ending the McCarthy investigations.
