In a recent study of statistics students, a random sample of students were asked to provide the number of hours per week they sp

end studying for their statistics class. The results were used to compute confidence intervals for the population mean hours per week spent studying for statistics. The 95% confidence interval for the population mean hours per week that students spend studying for statistics was (6.55, 8.15). In this confidence interval, what is the margin of error (m)? Provide your answer as a number rounded to two decimal places.

Answer:

ME=\frac{Upper-Lower}{2}= \frac{8.15-6.55}{2}= 0.80

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

A confidence interval is "a range of values that’s likely to include a population value with a certain degree of confidence. It is often expressed a % whereby a population means lies between an upper and lower interval".

The margin of error is the range of values below and above the sample statistic in a confidence interval.

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

\bar X represent the sample mean for the sample

\mu population mean (variable of interest)

s represent the sample standard deviation

n represent the sample size

Solution to the problem

The confidence interval for the mean is given by the following formula:

\bar X \pm t_{\alpha/2}\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}   (1)

For this case the confidence interval is given by (6.55,8.15). And we can estimate the margin of error with this formula since the confidence interval is symmetrical:

ME=\frac{Upper-Lower}{2}= \frac{8.15-6.55}{2}= 0.80

1 2 2 4 3 9 4 16 what is the range of the function please help
Ivahew [28]

Answer:

<h2 />

Step-by-step explanation:

x            y

1            2

2           4

3           9

4           16

This sounds like a quadratic equation of f(x)=x^2, thus, the range is:

<h3>R(x): (-∞,+∞)</h3><h3 /><h3>If the function only has these points, then the range is:</h3><h3>R(x): [2]∪[4]∪[9]∪[16]</h3>

I need help with this question
Gekata [30.6K]
I just had a test on this, lol

this is actually pretty easy.

do you know what an exponent is? the exponent here is 5. that means you do 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2. because its two to the fifth power.

so that would equal 32.

since there is a negative sign, its -2 × -2 × -2 × -2 × -2

the answer would be negative two, because the exponent is an odd number.

here is an easy trick:
whenever the exponent in these type of problems is odd, the answer is negative.
if its an even number, the answer is positive.

why???? because a negative times a negative is a positive, and a positive times a negative is a negative.

so once again, your answer is -32.

hope i helped !!!

Assume that you have two dice. What is the probability of rolling a number greater than or equal to 9, given that at least one o
insens350 [35]
The answer is 4/36 or 1/9.

The chances of one dice getting 6 = 1/6. whereas, the chances of getting a combination of 9 or higher with at least one dice getting 6 is: 1/6* 4/6 since there can only be four combinations that would sum to 9 (3 +6, 4+6, 5+6 & 6+). 1/6 * 4/6 = 4/36 or 1/9.
